P/M Process

P/M part manufacturing entails two basic steps: pressing and sintering. Beyond sintering, a number of secondary operations may occur.

The process of P/M parts begins with the compression of refined and blended powder into presses fitted with custom designed dies.

After the part has been pressed into shape, it must be sintered (heated) in a controlled atmosphere furnace. The heated particles then form a bond which yields strength and homogeneity. Please refer to Material Standards.

After leaving the furnace, the parts are ready for shipment or secondary operations as needed.
